28 year old Juliet Becker was a university graduate who joined the force via an accelerated promotion scheme, which fast-tracked her straight into CID. There was a chance the others at Sun Hill were initially resentful of this; she'd not spent time pounding the streets on the beat like they had - but she did her best to fit in and become part of the team.

Juliet was more than just a pretty face - she was self-assured, sexy and easy to get along with. Diplomacy was one of her finer skills, along with her ability to speak fluent German and ride motorbikes. In many ways she was the antithesis of DS Debbie McAllister - self-promotion just wasn't on her agenda. Initially Debbie came to see Juliet as her rival, but the two got very close over time...

For the most part, she was professional and liked to keep her work and private life very separate. Her father was a military Chaplain and she had a rather strict upbringing. Rebelling against this, Juliet became a feisty woman with a relaxed attitude. She was single, and happy that way, so when she did get involved with people she preferred to keep things casual. Her one Achilles Heel was that she had never failed. That was until poor Juliet was stabbed to death by a vicious drunk with a knife.
