Cheeky cockney Dan Casper was the man PC Tony Stamp used to be twenty years ago; popular with the lads and he didn't do too badly with the ladies either. He loved driving, having excelled on the advanced drivers course at Hendon. Joining the police was quite literally a breath of fresh air for Dan after spending years underground on the tube as a ticket inspector. He served his probation at Spicer Street and then saw the opportunity to move to Sun Hill. A clash of personality with a sergeant there meant that the question of his transferring was welcomed by his superior.
Dan was an active and energetic character who saw the world in black and white, good and bad. This extended to his policing where his aim was to lock up all the bad people so that the good ones could get on with their lives. He wasn't the brightest spark, but he made up for his dimwittedness by proving to be extremely talented in the boxing ring. He didn’t wish to disappoint Inspector Gold, who took a great interest in Dan and his training. It seemed for a while that boxing was one way that he could finally prove himself.
When new sergeant Callum Stone arrived at Sun Hill, he made it immediately clear that he wasn't impressed with Dan's abilities as a police officer. Dan was happy to quit the station after he got an offer of work out in sunny Ibiza.
