Articulate, intelligent and ruthless, DC Grace Dasari is a force to be reckoned with in CID. After completing her doctoral thesis on criminology at the University of Oxford Centre of Criminology, Grace joined the police to put her academic experience into practice. She’s fresh from Special Projects, where she worked long term on Eastern European organised crime – not that she’ll ever talk about it.

Grace isn’t a ‘touchy-feely’ cop; she’s logical and joined the police to put the criminals behind bars, not to do social work. Grace analyses the evidence before her and makes logical deductions given the facts. She’s like a swan gliding gracefully through her police work, whilst beneath the surface she’s wading through the facts - fast - and will catch a crim lying before one trips off their tongue.

Despite her distain, Grace is a team player: she will play to her and the team’s strengths. If she thinks a colleague can do a better job than her, she’s a big enough person to pass it on. Grace will not be drinking down the pub with the relief after a hard day – no, she’s not at Sun Hill for a social life, that part of her is very private. So what’s Grace got to hide? Some will come to see her as a prude or an academic…others will see her as a challenge.
