PC Benjamin Gayle has been in the force for five years. On his first couple of days in Sun Hill he certainly doesn’t bother trying to impress – as time will tell, he doesn’t have to.

This is a copper who can look after himself physically; be sensitive enough to know how to motivate a witness to come out with the truth under testing circumstances, and also stand up to his peers - but also give them credit where it's due.

Benjamin stands up for the underdog; that’s why he’s a police officer. He has clear markers over what’s right and what’s wrong. For this, Stone will find him a hard nut to crack.
