STAGE STAR CHRIS JOINS THE BILL (11/3/05)

From Yahoo Entertainment news:

Chris as PC Dan CasperChris Jarvis has caused something of a stir thanks to his memorable stage performances in Saturday Night Fever, Chicago, Footloose and the movie version of hit musical The Phantom of the Opera.

At the end of the month, Bournemouth's rising star is expected to set a few more female hearts beating faster when he joins the cast of The Bill as Dan Casper.

The actor has been working on the show for three months already and his first appearance can be seen on March 30.

"He's 22 and a complete lad," explains Chris, "He's into clubs and DJs himself and his dream holiday is clubbing in Ibiza with his mates - he does the same thing every year. He also loves his car (a Golf GTI).

"Dan sees things in black and white - there is no grey area. He used to work for London Underground and is loving working in the police force - he is determined to be a good copper."

While Chris loves the fact he's picked up something of a following, he admits that some female fans can take things a little too far.

"When I was in Cats, this woman used to fly from Switzerland to see me," he recalls. "She said she was besotted, which was really weird. The next day she'd be talking to me like nothing had happened. It was really freaky."

Another "fan" is also going to extreme lengths to savour his debut on The Bill - but he's a lot less worried about that.

"My younger sister is at university and has already arranged a 'Bill Night', which I've got to go along to," he laughs.

"I haven't really told many of my friends that I'm going to be on The Bill yet as it's all happened so fast - I'm going to wait and surprise them when I'm on screen.
