Jonathan Fox was on attachment to Sun Hill for several months as the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) Lawyer. He was a strong character, capable of meeting challenges. Very intelligent, articulate and witty, he soon became a focal point at the station, yet as a gruff ex-boxer and Londoner, he certainly wasn't a pushover.

A single father in his late 40s, Fox had a prolific career as a defence barrister and was renowned for his ability to swing any case in his direction. After the breakdown of his marriage, he moved to prosecuting and began an equally successful career in the CPS.

Whilst at Sun Hill, his advisory capacity often extended into personal relationships in the station - and tensions occasionally surfaced when Fox resisted pressure from officers to bring an unrealistic charge. His paternal nature had a real impact on the younger police officers though, and sharing a lot attitudes with the 'old guard' of the station, Fox got on with the likes of Insp. Gold.
The mutual attraction between the two soon developed into a full-blown relationship, but Jonathan soon realised that the job would always come first in Gina's life. They eventually parted company when he requested a transfer to another station.
