DC Stevie Moss is CID’s little ray of sunshine. She arrived at Sun Hill fresh from SO10, an undercover unit for covert policing and evidence gathering. Rather than sit around on her first day in the office, Stevie was quick to tag along with Mickey and Terry. At first they were dumbfounded by her constant chatter – however when it’s obvious she can take a joke (about her little legs), she’s soon one of the team. Proving on her first day she’s a good detective probably held her in good stead too: she can spot an accident from a hit-and-run and fifty (little) paces.

Stevie is a cop who talks as she thinks; she’ll go into an interview room with one strategy and abandon it before her partner has even switched the tape on. It may seem like this motor-mouth has wandered off the point, but you underestimate her at your peril. She’s thinking twice as fast as she speaks, and her goal is always a confession - which she usually gets.

She’s friendly, she’s a laugh and brings an infectious energy to any team; the upfront questioning and burning desire to know about people’s private lives will ruffle a few feathers from time to time, but sometimes secrets are better off in the open – at least, that’s how Stevie sees it. Stevie rarely gives out anything of real substance. You may know every detail about what happened to her on a disastrous night out at some dive of a club, but you’ll never know what keeps her awake at night, what gets her up in the morning, or who she really cares about in life…
