ICWales
reports on the latest addition to join the cast:
SEXY Welsh actress Myfanwy Waring makes a very arresting sight as the new recruit in top cop drama The Bill.
The brunette beauty makes her first appearance on Wednesday as sex-mad bisexual copper Amber Johannsen.
The two things that excite Amber most are shopping and sex - and she's practically addicted to both!
And Dyfed-born minx Myfanwy says she and Amber aren't all that different from each other!
"It's not all acting!" she told Wales on Sunday. "I think there's always going to be an element of that inside you or you couldn't do it and wouldn't get the job.
"I think I'm like her in that I can give as good as I get if I have to, in the nicest possible way! And I've always enjoyed a good flirt - who doesn't?!
"Amber is quite feisty, confident and has got that spark and I think that works in her favour - she gets away with a lot.
"She is wicked. She's really fun and strong and can be a bitch but people let her get away with it."
Bubbly Myfanwy, who giggles and chats away like fellow Welsh pocket-rocket Jan Anderson, graduated from Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and already has a fine acting pedigree.
She was in Terry Hands' Under Milk Wood with Theatr Clwyd
and recently played the Royal Court Theatre.
And the 27-year-old has been in lots of TV commercials, including starring as the Fiat Punto girl, which led to her being touted as 'one to watch' in ES Magazine.
She revealed: "I had a good idea before the audition what Amber would be like. You know what it's about.
"And I think she's definitely out to shock. She uses her sexuality but The Bill is on before 9pm, so it's not going to be that bad. It's fairly tame but I think with Amber, she's totally up for it. She's not really full-on anything. There's no labeling her.
"She's likes men and women. She just wants to have fun and is having a dance with her friends when one thing leads to another. But she doesn't want to be labeled.
"My first few episodes in The Bill are pretty full-on. I'm in them quite a lot because they like to establish your character so the public will get to know who you are."
Myfanwy, who is currently single, can also be seen in a
small part in Russell T Davies' Swansea-based Mine All Mine.
But she's always been a fan of The Bill and also loves comedy.
She said: "I've dipped in and out of The Bill over the years. I like stuff like Ab Fab and Little Britain really cracks me up.
"I think The Bill is classed as a drama rather than a soap so I'm not too bothered about becoming one of the soap stars who are papped all the time and become celebrities.
"I don't think there's that much digging of the dirt with people from The Bill. It's something I haven't thought about too much. I'll just take it as it comes."
And Myfanwy has her Welsh family to keep her feet firmly on
the ground.
She said: "I'm from Dyfed and grew up in the middle of nowhere! It's hard to explain where - home is neither Carmarthen or Lampeter.
"My mum had six children - one of my brothers has a health food shop in West Wales and my sister has children. I'm the only actress. When I was a kid I did a lot of horse-riding. Growing up in Wales, you've got to have an outdoor pursuit, haven't you?
"I was into the cross country, gymkhana and ballet. I was in ballet shows in Felinfach Theatre. I've always been a performer! I've never been able to see myself doing anything else apart from maybe massage or reflexology - something hands-on."
