NUT SHOOTS AT BILL STARS (27/5/05)
From The Sun newspaper.
TERRIFIED
stars of The Bill dived for cover as a GUNMAN fired on
them while they were filming.
Real-life police rushed to protect the TV cops — including Sgt June Ackland, played by Trudie Goodwin, Insp Gina Gold, played by Roberta Taylor, and PC Reg Hollis, actor Jeff Stewart.
Stars of the popular television
show had been shooting the ITV soap in a street in south London earlier this
month.
A member of the crew was hit in the hand by an airgun pellet, but his glove
saved him from injury.
It was believed that two youths may have fired from nearby flats and then fled
the scene.
A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed an airgun incident was reported in the area
on May 19.
He said: "Police were called to reports of an airgun being fired. A pellet
hit a male on a glove causing no injuries."
He said officers attended but no further action was taken.
