THIS LIFE STAR GETS PHYSICAL IN THE BILL (06/06/07)

Amita Dhiri admits she was really excited about 'arresting people' when she landed a role in The Bill.

The former This Life star has been cast as DC Grace Dasari and says she couldn't wait to get stuck into the crimes facing the Sun Hill officers.

"I was really looking forward to arresting people," says Amita.

"If anyone offered me a Matrix-style or kung fu film, I'd jump at it. I'd love to do something like that."

The actress added: "The physical side of this job was very interesting, mainly because I've played a lot of lawyers and sensible people in the past, although the first scene when I got to arrest someone was a bit of a shame, quite frankly.

"I was wearing big heels and could barely stand up. I made everyone else around me slow down so I didn't look quite so bad, tottering around!"

There are rumours that Lewis is subsequently shot dead when armed police go after him. We're still awaiting confirmation on this one.
