::: MICKEY WEBB TO RETURN AS REGULAR CAST MEMBER

Chris Simmons (aka DC/DS Mickey Webb) is apparently returning to the show as a full-time cast member in the next couple of months. Mickey was last seen as a DS with the National Crime Squad in April. There is some confusion over his rank when he returns - some sources have quoted him as a DC (implying some kind of demotion from his last appearance). As soon as we get some more concrete details, we'll post them here.

::: GARY LUCY TO JOIN THE BILL

It has been confirmed that Gary Lucy will be joining The Bill. He starts filming at the end of the month, with his first episodes airing around December. He'll be playing 'laddish' PC Will Fletcher; it'll be his first stint in the Met.

We can confirm, despite last week's media frenzy, that Trudie Goodwin (aka Sgt. June Ackland) is not leaving The Bill. She's happy about her current role in the show and is about to renew her contract, “Although it is inevitable that I will move on to new projects one day, I have no immediate plans to leave the Bill at this time. In fact, I am about to renew my contract with The Bill and am very happy to be staying on for the foreseeable future.”
