Natalie Roles aka DS Debbie McAllister has decided to leave The Bill.

Her contract was up for negotiation, but she opted not to re-sign.

Natalie has been in the show since the episode 'On the Hook Part I' in November 2000, joining in the post-Beech clear-out of Sun Hill CID.

She has just finished filming her final scenes, which imply that the door has been left open for a possible return. McAllister will be on screens until Christmas.

ONLINE PETITION

Fans of Mark Wingett (DC Jim Carver) have formed an online petition to prevent him from being axed from the show. Whilst it is unlikely that such action will lead to the producers revoking their decision, if there is enough interest it might make them bring the character back quicker in a guest capacity!
