NEWS ON THE BILL - MARCH'S NEWSLETTER (13/3/03)
Paul Marquess, The Bill's executive producer has revealed some news about the show in the March newsletter from thebill.com.
'Think Murder' has now been
renamed 'M.I.T. Murder Investigation Team' - it's an eight part drama, which is
currently halfway through shooting. It features a cast led by Samantha Spiro and
Lindsey Coulson, and offers an insight into the procedures the police employ to
investigate murders. M.I.T. will be on ITV1 later in the spring.
The newsletter also talks
about Sgt Matt Boyden being "up to his old tricks again". We're told
"when he oversteps the mark with the DI's daughter it's the beginning of a
chain of events that will eventually lead to oblivion." Least Matt's
getting some good stories before he leaves the show.
The arrival of PC Honey Harman is also mentioned. "Gary Best doesn't care
that she's not exactly Einstein - he's smitten" (like with every new female
who arrives at Sun Hill it seems - Ed)
We're also told to "keep an eye out for PC Cathy Bradford. We all know
she's unhinged, but could she be deadly?" We're also told about heartbreak
for one old favourite (June Ackland) and romance for another (apparently PC
Stamp) - and the long-awaited return of Polly Page in 2 weeks time. PC Nick
Klein's drug habit is also exposed in the next few weeks - Sergeant Murphy tries
to help him through it, albeit unsuccessfully, and Supt. Okaro puts him into
rehabilitation.
Website news
As you may have noticed, the 'Old Bill' section of the site has been taken offline. Apologies for the inconvenience, I know it's the most popular part of the site - but it's had to be taken down due to bandwidth restrictions. Rest-assured, we are looking into reducing the size of some of the images so that less bandwidth is consumed and the site can run at normal efficiency. In the meantime to access a profile of someone from the past cast, use the formula www.thebillbios.co.uk/<character surname here>.htm , substituting <character surname here> with the character who's profile you want to read. i.e. www.thebillbios.co.uk/fox.htm We're aiming to sort the problem out by next month; if you have any questions or comments, feel free to email thebillbios@hotmail.com. Please continue to look at the brand new History section of the site - which is being regularly updated! It's been very popular so far and there are more pages to come...
And, finally, as of 16/3/03 the website has had 7495 visitors in total - not bad for under 2 months!
