THE Bill favourite Supt. Adam Okaro will be left fighting for his life after a bomb blast.

The top cop, played by Cyril Nri, will be in a critical condition following an explosion at a pub. It goes off as Adam gives a speech at a party he has helped to organise for the community.

A show insider said: “There will be an ear-splitting noise, windows and glass will shatter, doors will go flying. “Everyone will be in a state of shock and screaming. But the only person on the life-threatening list is Adam.” The aftermath of the explosion becomes a massive whodunnit for Sun Hill’s finest on the ITV1 drama.

New recruit Lance Powell (Ofo Uhiara) believes he may have been the real target. The openly gay Christian officer was called to the toilet — near to where the bomb went off — by a text message shortly before the blast.

But other cops think a councillor could be behind the atrocity.

Adam is pulled out of the burning pub by PC Tony Stamp (Graham Cole) — who was seen running over Sgt. June Ackland this week. He is hailed a hero for the rescue.

The gripping scenes will be shown later this month.
