THE EVER-REVOLVING DOOR OF SUN HILL (10/2/03) updated 13/2/03
Again, due to the amount of upcoming departures from The Bill, I thought it was time for an update:
Departures
| Sergeant Matthew Boyden - is shot dead by his daughter's cocaine dealer in April. Not surprising, as Boyden's been little more than a extra in recent months. Another long-serving character bites the dust. | |
| PC Des Taviner - no details about when Des is leaving, but apparently his role in the Sun Hill fire is uncovered | |
| DC Danny Glaze - apparently leaves with Des when their cover-up in the Simpson trial is revealed | |
| DC Mickey Webb - Perhaps a promotion to CIB would make sense? He is set to leave in a 'sensational' storyline (*sigh* - as long as he's not killed off - Ed) | |
| PC Luke Ashton - leaving in the summer. Scott Neal only had a one year contract and finishes filming later this month, although his character will be on screen for several months to come. Apparently he has another big storyline before his departure. | |
| PC Gemma Osbourne - a report in yesterday's Daily Express confirmed Jane Danson was leaving. She will be written out in April. Apparently the producers are upset that she is leaving but haven't been able to change her mind. The article also says that Danson hasn't liked the sensational way the lesbian angle of her character has been played up. |
Additions
| PC Gabriel Kent - played by Todd Carty (who leaves EastEnders this week) will be on our screens in May | |
| PC Honey Harman - played by Kim Tiddy. Apparently, she's a real dizzy blonde who's accident prone. One of her first mishaps is to help jump-start a getaway car - not realising they are a bunch of robbers. Apparently she arrives soon after the departing Boyden. |
Returning
| PC Polly Page - Polly's been on extended sick leave since the fire (in real life due to Lisa Geoghan being on maternity leave). Geoghan returns to our screens in # 099 (9 episodes time) and joins CSU. Apparently, Pol's had an 'image upheaval'! | |
| PC Dale Smith - although nothing's been confirmed officially, a reliable source said an 'old favourite' would be returning to film in the show last month, with a one-year contract. Tony O'Callaghan (Boyden) confirmed that the character was Dale Smith (Alex Walkinshaw) on a recent trip to the studios. |
Bob Cryer is also set to return to the show for two episodes, as he's a 'favourite with the Executive Producer.'
