DETECTIVE SERGEANT ACKLAND?

It has been hinted that Sergeant June Ackland (Trudie Goodwin) is soon to be transferred to CID. This would explain the DS position which has been vacant since the CID clear-out last year. June has often worked with CID while at Sun Hill, often being on secondment there when she was a PC.

LIZ RAWTON BACK

The actress Libby Davison who played DC Liz Rawton in The Bill from 1996-1999 has revealed that her character is set to make another reappearance in the programme. Following her harrowing abduction in December 1999, Liz left Sun Hill to take up a training post at Hendon. She returned to The Bill in January 2000 in the two-parter Thug On The Tyne to help track down some corrupt officers in Newcastle. She then returned in The Trial of Eddie Santini in April 2000, before making another reappearance in Lies of Silence (April 2001) when we discovered that she was part of the Serious Crimes Unit, where she had been promoted to DS.

Liz is set to come back in a six-part episode, and there is speculation that this storyline is the one marking the departures of PC Vicky Hagen (Samantha Robson) and PC Roz Clarke (Holly Davison) from the series. Liz's rank in the episodes is not yet known, as she was last seen as an Acting DI.
