JUST WHO IS SUN HILL'S SERIAL KILLER? (11/12/02)
This
is currently the question on every viewer's lips, as PC Cass Rickman becomes the
serial killer's sixth - and latest - victim.
In tonight's episode, the killer takes Cass to an abandoned warehouse and ties her up and blindfolds her. Cass' dead body is later found washed up on the banks of the Thames, however the killer's identity is revealed to her before her untimely demise. Unfortunately, we'll be waiting until new year before the conclusion of the storyline...
The news section of thebill.com lists the possible suspects:
| Martin Porter - PC Kerry Young's ex-fiancé, and the duty solicitor who can't seem to keep away from Sun Hill nick…on both sides of the law. He's been witnessed pushing a young blonde woman into his car against her will, and finally cracked last week, hitting Kerry with a nasty back-hander. | |
| Simon Kitson - He may be the local journo but how does he obtain private information about the victims? And why, when Cass has made it crystal clear she doesn't want to see him, does he keep coming back for more? Mr Kitson has an uncanny knack of turning up in the right place at the right time…and just where is his first wife anyway? | |
| Shane Pellow He's been linked to past murder victims, had access to the bodies through his job at the funeral parlour and inhabits the seedy underbelly of the S & M scene. Even his current teenage girlfriend thinks she may have been living with the killer… | |
| DS Don Beech - Well you never really know do you? (no, not with the current Executive Producer! - Ed) There's been a lot of speculation over his return, and a certain amount of sneaking him in and out of the set…perhaps it's no wonder Cass gasps before saying…."It's you!" |
I personally believe that all of these suspects are red herrings. I think the killer will be 'close to home' (as quoted from the start of this storyline), but will be someone the audience will think is highly implausible. Pat Kitson (Simon's sister) looks dodgy to me! We are simply being fed this information so that when the *real* killer is revealed it is more shocking and unexpected.
