THE Bill’s shocking incest plot takes a bizarre twist — when it turns out PC Gabriel Kent is not Sgt June Ackland’s son after all.

Viewers were stunned when warped Gabriel (Todd Carty) supposedly seduced his own mum.

And she will be left sickened when the crooked cop tells her he is the long-lost son she gave up for adoption.

But fans of the ITV1 police drama will be astounded to discover Gabriel is lying — and only slept with her as part of a twisted revenge scheme.

He is actually the son of the family which adopted the boy June (Trudie Goodwin) gave up. Gabriel’s parents died in a car crash on an outing that June’s real son — Robert — had organised.

Ex-EastEnders star Todd, 40, explained: “Gabriel thinks if it wasn’t for June giving up her son for adoption then he’d still have his parents.

“Since they were killed, he’s felt this bitterness and hatred towards two people — his adopted brother and the person who brought them into their lives, June.

“It’s festered over the years and he’s worked towards getting his revenge.”

But when June confesses to Gabriel that she gave birth after being raped at 15, he breaks down and confesses his evil plan.

To make matters even worse, Gabriel admits he has unwittingly fallen for June.

Todd added: “In his warped mind, he still wants their relationship to continue.”

The episode is at 8pm on Wednesday.
