BACK ON THE BEAT (19/3/05)

A familiar face is winging its way back to Sun Hill station, in the form of DS Mickey Webb. 

Actor Chris Simmons returns to the role in April, a year and half after his character left to join the crack Murder Investigation Team. 

Though Mickey is only returning for a few weeks, the storyline surrounding his comeback promises to be a dramatic one!

"Mickey is now working for the National Crime Squad, and he returns for work reasons," says a Bill spokesperson. "He's been sent on a secret mission to inform DCI Jack Meadows that recent intelligence suggests DI Neil Manson is corrupt. A murder set-up, a double -cross and a bitter personal vendetta follows Mickey's reappearance in what promises to be a sinister and twisted thriller!"

"We're overjoyed to have Chris back as Mickey," continues our source. "He's a popular character, and the storyline will find him back in the thick of the action."

Mickey appears in episode # 301 on 7th April.
