Two of Sun Hill's favourite faces are set to tie the knot in spectacular style.

At last, some good news for two of The Bill's favourite characters...so good we couldn't resist sharing!

As these exclusive pictures show, DC Jim Carver (Mark Wingett) and Sergeant June Ackland (Trudie Goodwin) finally say 'I do', after an on-again-off-again romance that has stretched over the show's 21-year history. The two met in the very first episode of The Bill in 1983, when June 'puppy-walked' Jim on his first day at Sun Hill.

The wedding, which will air in the UK within the next couple of months and in Australia six months after that, was shot at an undisclosed rural location. Trudie wore a white dress with a sequined, embroidered bodice and a full skirt, and Mark wore a suit, while the rest of the cast showed how stunning they can look once they get out of uniform.

From these pics, the wedding looks like a fairytale, but a spokesperson for the show has warned, "Behind the smiles on the day - as with all good soap weddings - nothing goes according to plan."
