WHO'S KILLED BILL'S KERRY? (2/10/04)

THIS is the heart-stopping moment when The Bill’s PC Kerry Young is shot dead — and the hunt begins for her killer.

The popular blonde, played by Beth Cordingly, 26, is the fourth Sun Hill character to be gunned down by a mystery sniper.

She collapses bleeding into the arms of her workmate Smithy (Alex Walkinshaw) just seconds after the pair admit that they love each other.

Suspicion will fall on Kerry’s colleagues as well as local villains after the shooting, to be screened on October 21 at 8pm.

A show insider said: “Kerry was very popular and the death scene is a real tear jerker.

“It’s a cracking storyline.” The four main suspects in the frame are:

PC GABRIEL KENT (Todd Carty) — He has already raped Kerry and she has found out he has taken on the identity of Sgt June Ackland’s son to cover up who he really is.

PC ANDREA DUNBAR (Natalie J Robb) — She is an undercover reporter working to topple the station’s Superintendent, Adam Okaro. And Kerry has found out her real identity.

DI NEIL MANSON (Andrew Lancel) —  Kerry has discovered the married DI is having an illicit affair with PC Dunbar.

DAVID RADFORD (Alex McSweeney) — Kerry had a fling with the crook then arrested him. He has threatened to kill her.
